Mendoza - Argentine Adventure & Wine Capital
Mendoza is a place that you will definitely want to stay for a few days! Whether it be an interest for wine that keeps you here or your love for adventure sports, you probably will not want to leave in hurry.
Mendoza is one of Argentina's main wine producing areas with nearly two thirds of the Argentine wine produced there! A tour to local vineyards is included in your stop in this beautiful city.
Mendoza is also a great base for exploring the countryside which is home to an abundance of adventure sports activities such as rafting, horse riding and even rappelling! Mendoza is located close to the foot of the Andes so trekking and even skiing (in the right season!) are also optional activities here. It is also a good base to reach the Southern Hemisphere's largest mountain: Aconcagua!
Mendoza is often used as a stop by backpackers travelling Argentina before they traverse the Andes to Chile (Santiago) or for travelling onwards to Cordoba, Buenos Aires and even through to Rio de Janeiro!
You should definitely take some time to explore Mendoza's wealth of museums, parks and Plazas, from the impressive Plaza Independencia to the smaller Plazas like Plaza Espana. For museums, there is the Natural History museum or perhaps a visit to the National Wine museum to see where it all began!
