Included Activity in Trujillo / Huanchaco, Peru
Your included activity will take you on a guided visit to the complex of Chan Chan and to the Temples of the Sun and the Moon. Lunch not Included.
You will be picked up from your accommodation and visit Chan Chan which is the site of the largest Pre-Columbian city in South America. Chan Chan was constructed by the Chimor people (the kingdom of the Chimu), who founded a vast adobe city around AD 850 and lasted as the imperial capital of the Chimor until it was conquered in the 15th century by the Inca's. It is estimated that around 30,000 people lived in the city of Chan Chan.
You will also visit the Pyramids of the Moon and the Sun which are located 8 kilometers from the city of Trujillo. Once at the site, our local expert will take you to visit the Moon Temple, for which it will be necessary to climb a small hill to reach its gate. Once inside the pyramid our guide will show you the different levels of the site.
